Mancala is an old and practical game that as a kid we played with dirt holes and rocks. Even kids - helps them learn counting. It's still playable but it's a little frustrating because they could so easily have made the pits a little deeper.
It's fun and great to add to a collection of retro games. The gameboard is a bit rough so you have to take care to not scratch up your fingers. Those issues are cosmetic and overall this seems like a solid durable set.
I also wish the stones came in a sturdier permanent holder too.
Individual spots are just too small and they start to overflow easily. It also slows down the game because the small spots force us to place each marble in slowly.

The box to the game was severly damaged when received. The timer was broken and there was sand everywhere. The box is 90% air with no organizer.
