The grip is very strong and non-slip. The real ram sockets are smooth and depend purely on friction for holding which does not damage the ball. When using this in combination with an ipad grip, it's not going to fall!

The otter clasp holds a large phone in an otter box that measures about 3. Inches. Fits the samsung note 2, only horizontally though. Will work well for most phones and even a large gps - but buy at walmart.

Clip is so flimsy that it broke in my hand while i was attatching the garmin. Any driving motion knocks the mount off the dashboard.
