Overall, this aquarium heater performs better than expected at this price point.
Small and convenient heater for nano reef tank. Has a hidden filtration compartment and can be hidden behind plants. I love the small size and that it integrates visually so much better than other heaters.
Water level sensor keeps the water at the temp i set it to and always shuts off when it should. There's plenty of built in safety features like auto shutoff if the heater isn't fully submerged, but that can be annoying from time to time.
There still is a discrepancy between thermostat and thermometer, but only a few degrees now. There is a mostly consistent 7 degree difference. When you plug it in you set the desired temp and it will stick around that or from what i have seen about.
It only goes up, until it gets to 90s and then rolls back to 60s.
Itc-308-wifi controller attached the the heater as a backup as well.
Colbalt aquatics 100 watt heater for my turtle tank is wonderful. Watt for a 20 gallon tank for my two aquatic turtles. The 25w cobalt works like a charm and maintains my 3 gallon at a consistent 78 f.
Sometimes the internal thermometer needs to be reset. Slide it back into the bracket easily.
The build quality is outstanding. The accuracy is on par with eheim imo. The recent models are fine, and i'll be sure to update my review if anything ever does happen.
This heater is expensive and is already malfunctioning within weeks of purchase. There are a multitude of amazon reviews with the same comment — when these heaters fail, they fail hot. Don't buy this or definitely only use this with another heater con... Read More
The button to adjust temperature is hard to press. It is not tactile and is hard to tell that it was pushed. The heater suddenly gets stuck at 94 degrees and will not budge.
