Step 4 is rotate the hex wrench (clockwise) - but it should be counter-clockwise. It has low friction which allows the door to close even at a low sring tension.

The spring hinge is far better than the ones available at the home centers. Installing it was super-easy, just removed and replaced existing hinge. The latch/bolt is flush with the door and the strike plate is flush as well.

Works exceedingly and discretely well. Works like a charm.
