Pros and Cons

Pros2

Ken follet is a gifted writerand does not disappoint! Another follett page turner. Follett is a master story teller.

The storyline is amazing. Excellent plot interweave. Family conflicts, intrigue, greed & * abound.

Cons4

This book is pure 8th grade drivel. Just a bunch of historical ramblings mixed in with strange gossip. This goes into the hopper of books that have taken up too many hours of my 5 score and ten. I am so tired of purchasing book for my kindle that end ...  Read More

Incredibly unrewarding. The sample rarely informs you of this impending trash!

The writing is sub par and the characters are all such a bunch of cardboard cutouts. The worst of ken follett's work.

The twists are too coincidental. Weakened by predictable characters and excessive, unnecessary and tiresome * scenes. I agree with many reviewers that this was a very formulaic novel.

The tone the author takes in the book is one of a snobbish literati. It takes simple ideas and elaborates on them with analogies and other stories that detract from the information that is imparted. The rambling is constant and a detriment to the purp...  Read More
