beach is packed and unless you bribe the hotel beach attendant to save chairs for you at 6am you’ll be 56 rows of loungers back from the water and stuffed in like sardines n2 The food at the one and only hotel restaurant is terrible We tried many items on the menu from salads to burgers and left each meal feeling unsatisfied Service is slow but friendly as the majority of the hotel is staffed with international students n3 No bike rentals We were told that the bikes weren’t sufficiently equipped for quests to operate them safely and were sent in town to a bike rental shop rather than having the ease of renting on site Several hotel employees knew the mandate while others were uninformed leaving 30 min of confusion within the hotel staff around whether or not to rent the bikesn4 Jet skis were off limits No where is it listed that the jet ski passengers must be 16yrs old with ID and the minimum age for drivers is 18yrs so this surprise came to us as we attempted to take our kids on the water during our stay n5 Our room was an expensive “upgrade” with an ocean view However the sand immediately in front of our room was reserved for “private events” on multiple days and nights n6 We called multiple times to have the clogged sink fixed but no one ever showed n7 3 of the 4 light bulbs in the tiny bathroom vanity were out and similarly never got replaced despite our request n8 The AC unit is about 18” from the head of the bed and blows all night directly in our face The only other option is to overheat and suffer the humidity which isn’t really an option in summertime n9 Construction for 5 days straight For 4 full days the siding was being replaced on our building with loud hammering all day Less frustrating because the hotel really has no choice but equally inconvenient was having the water turned off for hours due to a pipe rupture on a separate day of our stay n10 The building entrance was loaded with sand seemingly never vacuumed nWe spoke with the hotel management and found Andrea to be professional and helpful However the damage was already done nNeedless to say we spent most of our time away from the hotel and enjoyed that very much
