It is amidst all the awesome tuolumne meadows trails, all are within 15 minute drives. The amenities are fantastic... clean washroom, plenty of bear boxes and comfy places to sleep. The food was delicious (slightly pricey) and I love the order-ahead option for bagged lunches. Check-in is at 4pm and the lines can get quite long. A definite A+ place in my books.","review_rating":5.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.9097040871428571,"sentiment_breakdown":[["This is a great place to stay if you are not accustomed to backpacking or camping.",["positive",0.9860554]],["It is amidst all the awesome tuolumne meadows trails, all are within 15 minute drives.",["unknown",0.7839517]],["The amenities are fantastic.",["positive",0.96759564]],["clean washroom, plenty of bear boxes and comfy places to sleep.",["positive",0.99495703]],["The food was delicious (slightly pricey) and I love the order-ahead option for bagged lunches.",["positive",0.9974202]],["Check-in is at 4pm and the lines can get quite long.",["unknown",0.66920084]],["A definite A+ place in my books.",["positive",0.9687478]]],"reviewer_fake_points":60}

{"reviewer_id":"30F337A90F8F28B3EDBC1AC997FCCD47","reviewer_name":"Jenny H","review_text":"We have been staying at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge for the last 7 years. If you aren't use to camping and want 4 star hotel - I don't recommend staying here. If you enjoy the greater outdoors, this is the perfect spot for hiking, fishing, rock climbing etc. There is a free Yosemite Hiker Bus that you can take from here to other areas/trail heads. \n\nWe consider this a glamping experience because they have good size tent cabins (ours had 1 dbl bed and 2 single beds - tip if your tall the dbl bed is short so you need to sleep diagonally to fit the bed). The tent was neat and as clean as can be since your out in the forest. It contained a small wood burning stove (instructions are posted on the tent - recommended reading). Wood, fire starter, matches and old newspaper (to start fire) was delivered daily as well as new bath towels and basic tidying of tent. Your also provided with a solar lantern. Since I enjoy reading before sleeping I brought our own light which was brighter. Bear boxes for food were available at the parking lot and separate toiletry bear boxes were behind the shower/toilet building. Liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided in the shower/toilet area but there are NO hairdryers.\n\nThe main Lodge has a long power strip (10+ outlets) to recharge devices so there is NO electricity in the tents.\n\nThis is a well maintained and efficiently organized place. The meals you can purchased at the main Lodge was good (a little on the expensive side but they have to have all the food brought up). Meals are good size and served at communal tables of 10 people which is a great way to meet other visitors and get hiking/fishing tips.","review_rating":4.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.8781448725000001,"sentiment_breakdown":[["We have been staying at Tuolumne Meadows Lodge for the last 7 years.",["positive",0.9116254]],["If you aren't use to camping and want 4 star hotel - I don't recommend staying here.",["unknown",0.63025504]],["If you enjoy the greater outdoors, this is the perfect spot for hiking, fishing, rock climbing etc.",["positive",0.89559007]],["There is a free Yosemite Hiker Bus that you can take from here to other areas/trail heads.",["positive",0.81187135]],["We consider this a glamping experience because they have good size tent cabins (ours had 1 dbl bed and 2 single beds - tip if your tall the dbl bed is short so you need to sleep diagonally to fit the bed).",["positive",0.9906825]],["The tent was neat and as clean as can be since your out in the forest.",["positive",0.9630578]],["It contained a small wood burning stove (instructions are posted on the tent - recommended reading).",["negative",0.28852588]],["Wood, fire starter, matches and old newspaper (to start fire) was delivered daily as well as new bath towels and basic tidying of tent.",["positive",0.9443214]],["Your also provided with a solar lantern.",["positive",0.9335804]],["Since I enjoy reading before sleeping I brought our own light which was brighter.",["positive",0.98882306]],["Bear boxes for food were available at the parking lot and separate toiletry bear boxes were behind the shower/toilet building.",["positive",0.91007006]],["Liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided in the shower/toilet area but there are NO hairdryers.",["positive",0.8969693]],["The main Lodge has a long power strip (10+ outlets) to recharge devices so there is NO electricity in the tents.",["positive",0.92518634]],["This is a well maintained and efficiently organized place.",["positive",0.98055583]],["The meals you can purchased at the main Lodge was good (a little on the expensive side but they have to have all the food brought up).",["positive",0.9897138]],["Meals are good size and served at communal tables of 10 people which is a great way to meet other visitors and get hiking/fishing tips.",["positive",0.98948973]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-160}

She is incredibly personable and creates a happy, laid back, and comfortable atmosphere which is somewhat rare these days. I understand she is new, but you are lucky to have her. I would hire her at a resort in New Zealand in a heartbeat. Your facility is very well maintained, and the restaurant and fire pit are added bonuses. I will definitely return at some stage in the near future. Thanks for an amazing experience!\n\nJames","review_rating":5.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.9331721157142858,"sentiment_breakdown":[["I have been in hospitality for a long time, and your front office/check in employee, Tiffany, is a true asset to Tuolomne Lodge.",["positive",0.94595003]],["She is incredibly personable and creates a happy, laid back, and comfortable atmosphere which is somewhat rare these days.",["positive",0.93619317]],["I understand she is new, but you are lucky to have her.",["positive",0.8927856]],["I would hire her at a resort in New Zealand in a heartbeat.",["positive",0.95046455]],["Your facility is very well maintained, and the restaurant and fire pit are added bonuses.",["positive",0.91595536]],["I will definitely return at some stage in the near future.",["positive",0.9091022]],["Thanks for an amazing experience!",["positive",0.9817539]]],"reviewer_fake_points":35}

{"reviewer_id":"B2D414DB2203B407FCE08B3E1FCC9458","reviewer_name":"SanDiegoHistProf","review_text":"My review could be anywhere from a 5 to a 2 and that is because Tuolumne Meadows Lodge is a unique place. The staff is friendly and helpful. The kitchen was not quite in their full groove yet, but we were there just two weeks after they opened. Here are some things to consider: 1.) The accommodations are robust tents on concrete platforms with a wood-burning stove to keep you warm. We were there in mid June just after they opened. We needed our sleeping bags in addition to the blankets they provided to keep warm. The second night there it was so cold that I set my alarm to wake me every two hours to add wood to the fire to keep my family warm. I had also gotten a double order of wood because we ran out the night before. 2.) The \"lodge\" is a big half-building half tent. There is no place to hang out in the evening except by the outdoor fire. There are pay phones, but they did not work when we were there. There is no cell service. The meals in the lodge are nice, but not inexpensive. You need to get reservations and they will sit you with other travelers, so be ready to make conversation. It can be great fun, but it is on you to do your part. Dinner is pretty nice....breakfast is so so. 3.) You cannot have food or your bathroom stuff in your tent to avoid bear and rodent problems. There are bear-proof containers in the parking lot for your food and bear proof compartments for your bathroom bag next to the common bathrooms. 4.) Common bathrooms are what you get. They are older, but well kept. We had plenty of hot water in the men's rooms, but wife and daughter reported shortages in the womens'. The bathrooms can get overcrowded and overused. 5.) You are in the high, high country and the lodge is along or near several fantastic trail heads. My son and I got up early one day and after a 20 minute walk we had our lines in the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne River. The sheer beauty of the place is hard to describe. The hardships are relative. Even getting up in the middle of the night to stoke the fire meant that my mind was on something basic instead of the troubles of modern life. My son and I really liked this place, but wife and daughter not so much.","review_rating":4.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.8093834155882352,"sentiment_breakdown":[["My review could be anywhere from a 5 to a 2 and that is because Tuolumne Meadows Lodge is a unique place.",["positive",0.8871549]],["The staff is friendly and helpful.",["positive",0.8873198]],["The kitchen was not quite in their full groove yet, but we were there just two weeks after they opened.",["unknown",0.5016229]],["Here are some things to consider: 1.",["positive",0.8100152]],[") The accommodations are robust tents on concrete platforms with a wood-burning stove to keep you warm.",["positive",0.99228585]],["We were there in mid June just after they opened.",["unknown",0.6611945]],["We needed our sleeping bags in addition to the blankets they provided to keep warm.",["positive",0.98475677]],["The second night there it was so cold that I set my alarm to wake me every two hours to add wood to the fire to keep my family warm.",["positive",0.9139879]],["I had also gotten a double order of wood because we ran out the night before.",["positive",0.9600929]],["2.",["positive",0.80257684]],[") The \"lodge\" is a big half-building half tent.",["positive",0.90138996]],["There is no place to hang out in the evening except by the outdoor fire.",["unknown",0.657531]],["There are pay phones, but they did not work when we were there.",["negative",0.21037585]],["There is no cell service.",["negative",0.25101072]],["The meals in the lodge are nice, but not inexpensive.",["unknown",0.77490383]],["You need to get reservations and they will sit you with other travelers, so be ready to make conversation.",["unknown",0.7747916]],["It can be great fun, but it is on you to do your part.",["positive",0.8039337]],["Dinner is pretty nice.",["positive",0.9279321]],["breakfast is so so.",["positive",0.96349585]],["3.",["positive",0.79944634]],[") You cannot have food or your bathroom stuff in your tent to avoid bear and rodent problems.",["positive",0.8825529]],["There are bear-proof containers in the parking lot for your food and bear proof compartments for your bathroom bag next to the common bathrooms.",["positive",0.9823277]],["4.",["positive",0.79788846]],[") Common bathrooms are what you get.",["positive",0.9303589]],["They are older, but well kept.",["positive",0.9059598]],["We had plenty of hot water in the men's rooms, but wife and daughter reported shortages in the womens'.",["unknown",0.6226067]],["The bathrooms can get overcrowded and overused.",["positive",0.8703085]],["5.",["positive",0.79965156]],[") You are in the high, high country and the lodge is along or near several fantastic trail heads.",["positive",0.9569138]],["My son and I got up early one day and after a 20 minute walk we had our lines in the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne River.",["positive",0.9442514]],["The sheer beauty of the place is hard to describe.",["positive",0.8074029]],["The hardships are relative.",["positive",0.9137868]],["Even getting up in the middle of the night to stoke the fire meant that my mind was on something basic instead of the troubles of modern life.",["positive",0.824503]],["My son and I really liked this place, but wife and daughter not so much.",["positive",0.8147052]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-65}
