We had a few families with a bunch of teens, and it was perfect! The service staff was absolutely incredible! I have to call out a few staff members in particular who really made our stay better than we could have imagined- Hugo, the bartender at the pool bar- hands down the nicest guy, and greatest bartender! ALWAYS a big smile on his face, and he really has fun with the guests that he serves! Can't say enough about him. \nLiz- from the entertainment staff- we introduced ourselves once on the first day, and every day thereafter she came over to our group by the pool, knew our names, and enticed us to join her in games, dancing, etc. \nI went to the fitness center every day but one- and took yoga (Eva), and Zumba (Diego, Luis, Alexandra). All instructors were wonderful!! Zumba was especially fun!! \nI absolutely love this resort, and hope to return again for another memorable vacation!","review_rating":5.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.8856404590909089,"sentiment_breakdown":[["This is my second time to the Iberostar resort, and again was amazing!",["positive",0.96098244]],["We had a few families with a bunch of teens, and it was perfect!",["positive",0.9661374]],["The service staff was absolutely incredible!",["positive",0.82868993]],["I have to call out a few staff members in particular who really made our stay better than we could have imagined- Hugo, the bartender at the pool bar- hands down the nicest guy, and greatest bartender!",["positive",0.97452295]],["ALWAYS a big smile on his face, and he really has fun with the guests that he serves!",["positive",0.98628575]],["Can't say enough about him.",["positive",0.97781575]],["Liz- from the entertainment staff- we introduced ourselves once on the first day, and every day thereafter she came over to our group by the pool, knew our names, and enticed us to join her in games, dancing, etc.",["positive",0.90020317]],["I went to the fitness center every day but one- and took yoga (Eva), and Zumba (Diego, Luis, Alexandra).",["unknown",0.7262605]],["All instructors were wonderful!",["positive",0.94562966]],["Zumba was especially fun!",["positive",0.9111859]],["I absolutely love this resort, and hope to return again for another memorable vacation!",["unknown",0.5643316]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-145}

{"reviewer_id":"989A0DA68B18EC26A590A5AF87074263","reviewer_name":"ViajerosofMW","review_text":"I did a lot of research before picking this place. I would consider this more appropriate for families than couples. Lots of things to do for families and kids. I wouldn’t come back again as a couple, but maybe as a family I would. I felt very welcomed by everyone that greeted us. Everyone was very professional and helpful. Just like other resorts in the area that we have stayed at, the staff is wonderful. Food is okay, drinks are okay, as expected. \n\nUnfortunately, a few things that we didn’t like: 1.Although there’s signs that say you cannot reserve areas of the pool, people still left their towels on the chairs and reserved their areas. I saw people leave for dinner, and then return to their chairs. Meanwhile, everyday we had to search for chairs, walking back and fourth. Lesson learned, wake up early and ignore the signs. 2. The promotional breakfast. This left a very bitter taste in our mouths. We were given a note for $400 worth of points? (I believe that’s what the card stated)for our room. We went to the front desk and we were signed up for a “VIP” breakfast and Iberostar cash. We signed up thinking this is a nice breakfast we can have as a couple. No mention of a promotional membership sales pitch. They didn’t even take the right information down (but that’s another story). However they want to pitch it, this is like a timeshare. Nice staff (and now I’m realizing, when they are trying to sell you something, of course they have to be!), but almost 2-3 hours of numbers is too much. We warned them many times that we were not buying anything, and we didn’t want to be pressured into anything. We mentioned it when we signed up, when we were at the lobby, when we met the rep, when we were eating, multiple times it was mentioned. We were willing to listen because for some reason no one got the clue. They want you to sign up on the spot (hence why they ask you to bring IDs and credit cards to breakfast), and when you don’t, the attitudes change. The guy helping us went from interested in our life story, to hurry up and go. I saw the faces when we were walking out of the other sales people. I went the whole day feeling horrible for wasting time, theirs, and ours. We wasted a whole morning. Later on I looked at all the reviews online on the membership, here’s lesson number two for me, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is. I have a suggestion, next time tell the customer the rundown of what will happen, waiting in a lobby, take you to a breakfast where the representative sits with you as well, then hours of numbers being pushed in your face. 3.Reservations at restaurants. My advice if you go here, plan ahead if you want to eat at any of the “restaurants.” I’ll save you the time and say that the buffet is so much better than the restaurants. You have to do it ahead because everything gets booked really fast. Not worth it in my opinion. But they will turn you away. \n\nOverall 3 out of 5. It’s a nice place to stay. Be careful with the promotions, and stay on top of your activities.","review_rating":3.0,"sentiment_class":"unknown","sentiment_result":0.7555044895555555,"sentiment_breakdown":[["I did a lot of research before picking this place.",["positive",0.9403333]],["I would consider this more appropriate for families than couples.",["positive",0.94575685]],["Lots of things to do for families and kids.",["positive",0.96174896]],["I wouldn’t come back again as a couple, but maybe as a family I would.",["positive",0.83718383]],["I felt very welcomed by everyone that greeted us.",["positive",0.9325529]],["Everyone was very professional and helpful.",["positive",0.90606743]],["Just like other resorts in the area that we have stayed at, the staff is wonderful.",["positive",0.95303726]],["Food is okay, drinks are okay, as expected.",["positive",0.9477575]],["Unfortunately, a few things that we didn’t like: 1.",["positive",0.8074253]],["Although there’s signs that say you cannot reserve areas of the pool, people still left their towels on the chairs and reserved their areas.",["unknown",0.76172864]],["I saw people leave for dinner, and then return to their chairs.",["unknown",0.75110984]],["Meanwhile, everyday we had to search for chairs, walking back and fourth.",["unknown",0.6599266]],["Lesson learned, wake up early and ignore the signs.",["unknown",0.654183]],["2.",["positive",0.80257684]],["The promotional breakfast.",["positive",0.7994273]],["This left a very bitter taste in our mouths.",["unknown",0.5221393]],["We were given a note for $400 worth of points?",["unknown",0.5682279]],["(I believe that’s what the card stated)for our room.",["unknown",0.5091755]],["We went to the front desk and we were signed up for a “VIP” breakfast and Iberostar cash.",["positive",0.9394916]],["We signed up thinking this is a nice breakfast we can have as a couple.",["positive",0.97323]],["No mention of a promotional membership sales pitch.",["negative",0.12895586]],["They didn’t even take the right information down (but that’s another story).",["negative",0.12348665]],["However they want to pitch it, this is like a timeshare.",["positive",0.80722034]],["Nice staff (and now I’m realizing, when they are trying to sell you something, of course they have to be!",["positive",0.830092]],["), but almost 2-3 hours of numbers is too much.",["unknown",0.5560544]],["We warned them many times that we were not buying anything, and we didn’t want to be pressured into anything.",["positive",0.83843714]],["We mentioned it when we signed up, when we were at the lobby, when we met the rep, when we were eating, multiple times it was mentioned.",["unknown",0.730948]],["We were willing to listen because for some reason no one got the clue.",["unknown",0.70362157]],["They want you to sign up on the spot (hence why they ask you to bring IDs and credit cards to breakfast), and when you don’t, the attitudes change.",["unknown",0.74942154]],["The guy helping us went from interested in our life story, to hurry up and go.",["unknown",0.6503325]],["I saw the faces when we were walking out of the other sales people.",["unknown",0.7040487]],["I went the whole day feeling horrible for wasting time, theirs, and ours.",["positive",0.9091419]],["We wasted a whole morning.",["unknown",0.6489268]],["Later on I looked at all the reviews online on the membership, here’s lesson number two for me, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.",["unknown",0.77941895]],["I have a suggestion, next time tell the customer the rundown of what will happen, waiting in a lobby, take you to a breakfast where the representative sits with you as well, then hours of numbers being pushed in your face.",["unknown",0.7820595]],["3.",["positive",0.79944634]],["Reservations at restaurants.",["positive",0.954187]],["My advice if you go here, plan ahead if you want to eat at any of the “restaurants.",["positive",0.9151587]],["” I’ll save you the time and say that the buffet is so much better than the restaurants.",["positive",0.96396637]],["You have to do it ahead because everything gets booked really fast.",["positive",0.87962115]],["Not worth it in my opinion.",["negative",0.04096597]],["But they will turn you away.",["unknown",0.7629903]],["Overall 3 out of 5.",["unknown",0.7131621]],["It’s a nice place to stay.",["positive",0.954825]],["Be careful with the promotions, and stay on top of your activities.",["positive",0.8981334]]],"reviewer_fake_points":40}

{"reviewer_id":"2B1143488F3319EB27E08875E435234B","reviewer_name":"TwinFinPro","review_text":"Iberostar lindo:\nMy wife and I celebrated our honeymoon here at the Lindo resort in August, and for the record we nor any of our friends have ever been here before, but I have to say that we had a BLAST! I’ll get to the particulars in a bit but first I want to get out what we searched for and a little about us. We are twenty-somethings that loves the beach, good food, and relaxing times and that is exactly what we got and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the resort and staff here. Since coming straight from the wedding all we really wanted was some R\u0026R and we didn’t exactly wish to go off property for this trip, but next time we will. Alright so onto some particulars..\n\nPre-trip packing:\nSunscreen - it’s very expensive on property ($26+ on property)\nAloe - you will become lobsters ($25+ on property )\nA waterproof watch - don’t be the person carrying around your cellphone in a lanyard, you look ridiculous, and you’re on vacation\nA book - it’s nice outside\nA raincoat - it’s basically a rainforest out there\n\nCurrency brought:\nCredit card - international or travel type preferred since there’s usually no fees\nCash - $100USD in singles and another $200 usd in whatever just in case.\n*even with buying sunscreen and tipping throughout the week we maybe spent $50 total.\n\nTipping:\nNo one on property cares what currency you tip in so bring whatever is easiest for you.\nTry to tip good on day one then you can lax off a little, but they remember who you are if you tip first day.. especially the bartenders who work super hard btw.\nAlso, don’t forget to tip your maids, they restock your minibar and will even overstock it if you leave like $5 on the bed every day. \n\nCar service:\nWe chose Mayaland Cancun, I thought we paid for shared transfer, but we were on our own with the driver and it was extremely safe and all of the employees were top notch. Water bottles and rose flower included haha.\n*Helpful tip at the airport when arriving, go out the baggage exit and across the little street, you’ll see tons of little booths and desks, walk straight till the end and that’s where we found their mayaland desk setup\n\nArrival/Checkin/Day One:\nWe had booked a pool view standard room at the Lindo, but upon checkin we told the girl it was our honeymoon and can’t wait to get to the beach cause that’s what we wanted most.. and maybe it was a certain time of year, but she was SO NICE and gave us an upgraded junior suite in Building 51 which is almost right on the beach! It worked out amazing for us the whole time.\nAfter checkin find your room drop your bags and CHECK THE SAFE, our safe didn’t work at first so we had to find our buildings concierge. Thankfully they sent a guy up to our room a minute or two later and all was good from there. \nIf your safe is working or not, go ahead to the concierge and lock in your specialty dinners for your stay.\nThen go out an explore the property, the animals, and the beautiful landscaping to pick out your spots for the next day.\n\nFood:\nFirst off we are not picky eaters, so we had an amazing time eating here. There’s food every 50 steps just about so if you’re like us and not picky you’ll end up a little porky after this trip.\nBreakfast - we ate at the same one every day and every day it was delicious. La Pogoda I believe it was called and had AC.\nLunch- we ate from the taco shop in the shopping center, at the beach snack bar, or at the same breakfast spot. All of it amazing especially the taco spot, go there cause you need some, all of which are delicious.\nDinner- I’m a steak and potatoes kinda fan, and I wasn’t too thrilled with their taste of beef cuts, but I never felt it was bad just not America. Beyond that, each and every place had some extremely great food with delicious apps and awesome staff.\n*Our favorite was the Mexican spot at the Lindo, get the shrimp dish, you will not be disappointed.\n*Beach snack bar saved my life most days since we usually drank way too much by noon haha\n*Helpful tip - Lindo and Maya have AC’s in all of their breakfast/lunch/dinner spots. The beach and Del Mar only had AC’s in their dinner spots. This is crucial when it’s baking outside.\n\nBeach:\nI recommend waking up around 7 and going to the beach to drop off towels on the chairs desired. Each of the huts have signs saying you can reserve only for 1 hour but the beach patrol usually helps late risers find a different spot and usually will never take or move your stuff. \nWe usually left during lunch most days for over an hour to take a walk and always came back to find our towels.. so you’re fine.\nRandom days during the week they cook out on the beach a giant meal for everyone. I suggest grabbing two plates, it’s seriously good.\nThe sand here is amazing.\nThere are some rocks in the ocean which were sometimes annoying but they aren’t everywhere, be careful, but the beach is really nice and wasn’t super crowded while there.\n\nPools:\nBig, cool looking, bet they were nice but smell like chemicals and kids everywhere.\nNot really the honeymoon vibe, and maybe at the maya or the grand it would have been better, but we don’t really care about pools. Swim up bar was cool.\n\nActivities and nightlife:\nIf you’re bored here then you’re doing it wrong. There’s more than enough to do. Apparently there is a rifle and archery area, never found it, but they got everything. \nThe shows at night were okay. Great for kids, and random as mess for adults, but it was fun. Bands play music in certain areas at night, and there’s also a disco/club. Yea we went once and laughed. Not our thing to do anyways, and maybe we went early.. but it’s open from 11pm-4am and the decor was killer! My wife thought it was hysterical, but just go to see it once.\n\nWeather:\nWe lucked out and didn’t have a drop of rain on property all week. There were however some sick thunderstorms that went all around us, almost every day, but at the beach and on resort property we had some clouds or perfect sun all day. \nWhat I did notice from the showers and storms around us though was that they never last long. Looked like 10min showers passing through and they were gone.\n\nLeaving:\nWas so sad going back to real life LOL, but as young adults from NYC trying to make ends meet, we chose to take our honeymoon here at the Lindo and my gosh it was a ton of fun and thankfully didn’t break the bank. \n\nWill we go back again? Probably \nAny regrets? {"reviewer_id":"0EA6664310B1D9C69DD115679E7318AE","reviewer_name":"Jenny R","review_text":"We stayed at this resort July 14-20th. It was nothing short of an amazing family vacation. We had a family junior suit, 1st floor (which is really the 2nd floor) one room had two double beds, and the other a king size bed. Both room joined together and had large bathrooms and balcony's. We overlooked the wave pool. \nBeach: yes the beach has seaweed and everyday they are out there cleaning it up for hours. The beach bar was great and even more so the beach cafe which had basic burgers, hotdogs and fries, ect. It was perfect for day at the beach\nThe pools: Amazing and clean. Yes if you are trying to save seats get there around 9am to start saving people start saving as early as 7am. \nThe food: we made reservations our first night there for all the restaurants.The Mexican restaurant was pretty good the kabob was hands down our favorite. The steakhouse was AMAZING!!!! We missed our other reservations due to excursions or just being lazy by the pool. The buffet by the main lobby had great choices and we were surprised that our kids (7 and 11) always had something to chose from especially since our 11yr old is very picky. \nThe Entertainment Team: do they ever sleep?! They make the resort! Tuesday we had a foam party which we thought would not be too kid friend;y, boy were we wrong it was amazing and the kids loved it. We played pool volleyball with an oversized beach ball, learned to Salsa, even my son learned (which is shocking)! \nWhen we checked in we had to have our passports swiped, and because of this it shows the staff if anyones birthday is happening. One day when we came back to our room after dinner we saw rose pedals in the hall which we thought was cute, to open our door and on our sons bed was a towel shaped cake with rose pedals all over it for his birthday. It was the best surprise. \nThe Staff: the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and to feel like family.\n\nWe look forward to hopefully coming back again, and bringing more family members with us!","review_rating":5.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.8672448391304348,"sentiment_breakdown":[["We stayed at this resort July 14-20th.",["positive",0.89451987]],["It was nothing short of an amazing family vacation.",["positive",0.89156437]],["We had a family junior suit, 1st floor (which is really the 2nd floor) one room had two double beds, and the other a king size bed.",["positive",0.90165114]],["Both room joined together and had large bathrooms and balcony's.",["positive",0.96299875]],["We overlooked the wave pool.",["positive",0.821114]],["Beach: yes the beach has seaweed and everyday they are out there cleaning it up for hours.",["positive",0.89633256]],["The beach bar was great and even more so the beach cafe which had basic burgers, hotdogs and fries, ect.",["positive",0.8452317]],["It was perfect for day at the beach The pools: Amazing and clean.",["positive",0.99295926]],["Yes if you are trying to save seats get there around 9am to start saving people start saving as early as 7am.",["unknown",0.6485267]],["The food: we made reservations our first night there for all the restaurants.",["positive",0.977258]],["The Mexican restaurant was pretty good the kabob was hands down our favorite.",["positive",0.9225515]],["The steakhouse was AMAZING!",["positive",0.93189156]],["We missed our other reservations due to excursions or just being lazy by the pool.",["positive",0.94942063]],["The buffet by the main lobby had great choices and we were surprised that our kids (7 and 11) always had something to chose from especially since our 11yr old is very picky.",["positive",0.9284524]],["The Entertainment Team: do they ever sleep?",["positive",0.8812237]],["They make the resort!",["positive",0.8946495]],["Tuesday we had a foam party which we thought would not be too kid friend;y, boy were we wrong it was amazing and the kids loved it.",["positive",0.95874155]],["We played pool volleyball with an oversized beach ball, learned to Salsa, even my son learned (which is shocking)!",["unknown",0.6617407]],["When we checked in we had to have our passports swiped, and because of this it shows the staff if anyones birthday is happening.",["unknown",0.3111016]],["One day when we came back to our room after dinner we saw rose pedals in the hall which we thought was cute, to open our door and on our sons bed was a towel shaped cake with rose pedals all over it for his birthday.",["positive",0.91109675]],["It was the best surprise.",["positive",0.96521896]],["The Staff: the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and to feel like family.",["positive",0.88297725]],["We look forward to hopefully coming back again, and bringing more family members with us!",["positive",0.91540885]]],"reviewer_fake_points":40}
