When in SanFran... go to Japantown and come straight here from some fresh and buttery tasting SUSHI! and skip the table seating... go straight to the bar because the bartender RICO is AMAZEBALLS. he is the sweetest and enjoyable to converse with. he shared his dislikes for the new and gentrified SF and sad that people living here can't make SF feel like how it was years ago. and i completely agree! i visited roughly 5 years ago before returning because i loved it so much. but i definitely noticed a different vibe this time around and can't say i will be returning. being a SF native, this crushed him to hear BUTTT he is a prime example that in the midst of change, there are still good people out there that will stick to their roots and he did just that! all my drinks i ordered at the bar were on him! that took me by surprise but definitely a highlight of my trip! nowww for the FOOD. i strictly came here for "appetizers" because my friend doesn't eat sushi so i couldn't be selfish and let her watch me eat...(well i really could've but if she ditched me i was 3000miles away from home)i ordered their house specialty - Tataki plate the Katsuo. i favor tuna more than anything else so this dish was perfect! i loved how they complimented the sushi with sweet mustard because it took away that fishy odor and don't let "mustard" fool you because i didn't taste a lick of mustard! nigiri - kampachi. i am a tuna girl and this was the best tuna i have ever had in my mouth. i mean.....it was incredibly buttery, light, soft, one or two chews and it dissolved right down your throat. i was impressed because what the hell have i been eating all my life?! it's too bad i haven't found a match here at home yet! this is a MUST TRY for all the tuna lovers.nigiri - amaebi. the prawn tasted so fresh and sweet! i dipped it in this wasabi salsa they offered. although the salsa was spicy, it took away the raw flavor and the spice only lasted a couple seconds. also helped clear up my sinus...that wasabi was strong! overall, check this small cute little place out and don't forget to sit at the bar to heighten your experience!  Read Less
