under statement nWe booked this accommodation mainly based on peoples outstanding reviews however due to the massive let downs I think we will return to some of the amazing hotels we have stayed in the past nnIt all started on the 1st day when due to our early arrival the room was not ready however this was totally understandable and the reception staff were very accommodating and friendly We eventually got our keys to Block G at 1430 so off we went through the pool area that had every other tile cracked and the grouting was literally falling apart We approached the block and this looked more like a run down residential block of flats at the entrance and in need of a good facelift We entered the room and our 1st impression was yes this will be fine for 11 nights we had a decent view of poolsea however upon entering the bathroom my partner and I could smell the urine on the floor and upon investigation the whole front of the basin had pee stains running all down the front We reported to reception who advised politely that this would be resolved I subsequently went to speak with them as we went for dinner as still nothing had been actioned Then 2 days passed and the smell and stain were still apparent therefore we decided to speak to the General Manager who politely advised me that the cleaner had been moved to a different block as it wasnt the first issue Personally moving her is hardly a resolution for other guests She then advised that everything was sorted and she apologised once more I then had to stop the apologies to advise it still had not been done as she thought it had so as you can imagine the lady was quiet embarrassed at this stage and promised to get it done immediately with the assistance of the cleaning and maintenance personnel I advised that as we have waited 3 days so we took the liberty of going to the supermarket and buying bleach and cloths to do this ourselves she advised for us not to do this however as you can imagine we gave enough opportunities for this to be resolved Eventually this was finally sorted by ourselves nPool areas area and surrounding areas are extremely run down with very poor cleaning and maintenance these are accidents waiting to happen The amount of broken tiles and holes in the walk ways are unreal The beds are swilled under at night rather than stacking them and cleaning away the rubbish and cigarette buts this ultimately just rotates lots of the rubbish and it doesnt get cleaned away The sun beds are in a a dire state and need a good scrub down Pool tiles around the edge of the adult pool are raised in areas therefore obvious trip hazards We also saw broken and missing tiles in the shower by the pool nBar area was very limited on drinks and looked more like a make shift bar to be fair however the staff were the best asset as very polite and genuinely nice Seating was so upright and uncomfortable therefore we had to relax each evening in the lobby with the adorable cats that also chilled their as this seating was much more relaxing nRestaurant the food was a of a good standard and the shining light of the whole hotel however everything is DIY unless you upgrade to the Royal Elite status where you had access to better facilities and waiter service at your table nRoyal Elite well this is a massive upsell to a higher grade stay that divides the hotel and its clients and something that I personally frowned upon Why should you pay an extra £28 a day to receive waiter service a well stocked bar and a roof top terrace pool area This is standard at our normal hotel in Tenerife and a norm when you spend good money to relaxnnOverall I feel that the issues are down to either staffing restraints or simply poor staff management and expectations This is very much a DIY holiday as you literally do everything from get your own drinks to cleaning the loo nnI would never return to a Sandos hotel as my first impressions have been totally dashed and if this is the level
