I ended up staying 1.5 months here and I have nothing but good things to say about Yellowhouse, its owner Vincent, and his two dogs, Tomas and Mathias. First, the breakfast is by far the best spread I've had in South America. There are eggs which you cook yourself which in my opinion is a great idea. Nobody knows how I like my eggs except for me. Bread and in some cases homemade bread baked by Vincent himself (his bread is out of this world). Milk and cereal, coffee, fruit, and avocado if Vincent can find ripe enough avocados of the good kind (not the big creamy South American avos). The environment of the hostel is super chill. This isn't a party hostel so if you're looking for that, I'd recommend Poblado. However there were some chill nights with beers and card games with the other guests. Full kitchen is available for your use. You also get a key to the front gate so you can come and go as you please without having to wait. I stayed at a hostel in Poblado which had the employee having to open the door every time you came in and out which was super annoying. Uber ride to Poblado is around 12,000 col pesos which is super cheap in my opinion. There's always hot water and the WiFi was by far the best I've had in South America. The metro station Floresta is just a hop and a skip away (about 3 minute walk) and Laureles which has good local nightlife is about 20 minute walk. I walked there and back several times without any issues. The area is relatively quiet and I never felt unsafe. Grocery store and Mercado America (fruits and veggies) are a short walking distance. \n\nSo if you're looking for a great hostel, superb WiFi, and the best damn breakfast in South America, than this is the place for you. Can't beat it for the price. I paid extra for private room and still saved money compared to other hostels. The owner Vincent is fluent in Spanish, French and English and is extremely knowledgable about Medellin and Colombian culture. Talking with Vincent is a must if you want to make the most of your time. Plus he has contacts for taxis, tours and other accommodations throughout Colombia if you plan on travelling throughout Colombia.\n\nI stayed 29 days at Yellow House and while i was there I met several returning guests who were happy to be \"home\" at Yellow House. I told Vincent that Yellow House is officially my second home. I live in New York but my home is Medellin is Yellow House.","review_rating":5.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.8378953849999999,"sentiment_breakdown":[["Yellow house is less than 2 blocks from the Floresta Metro station yet the neighborhood is quiet.",["positive",0.802004]],["I paid extra for private room and still saved money compared to other hostels.",["positive",0.91251916]],["The owner Vincent is fluent in Spanish, French and English and is extremely knowledgable about Medellin and Colombian culture.",["positive",0.79918814]],["Talking with Vincent is a must if you want to make the most of your time.",["positive",0.89864033]],["Plus he has contacts for taxis, tours and other accommodations throughout Colombia if you plan on travelling throughout Colombia.",["positive",0.9233177]],["I stayed 29 days at Yellow House and while i was there I met several returning guests who were happy to be \"home\" at Yellow House.",["positive",0.86083704]],["I told Vincent that Yellow House is officially my second home.",["unknown",0.64849377]],["I live in New York but my home is Medellin is Yellow House.",["positive",0.85816294]]],"reviewer_fake_points":5}

{"reviewer_id":"57E35D0C14BCE70D99C57C7908CC5F2D","reviewer_name":"Penny L","review_text":"Vincent, the owner, offers a friendly, clean, and quiet place to stay while in Medellín. The location is excellent - right near the Floresta metro station so there is easy access to wherever the Metro goes. It is also an easy walk to San Javier and the Comuna 13 area, Laureles neighborhood, and the Stadium sports complex. We became regulars at the Mercado la America for grocery shopping. Sharing the kitchen was convenient. We met wonderful people and learned a lot from other peoples travel experiences. Breakfasts are included, there are plenty of common places to sit. And then of course there are the dogs... friendly and welcoming. We would stay there again!","review_rating":5.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.907242245,"sentiment_breakdown":[["Vincent, the owner, offers a friendly, clean, and quiet place to stay while in Medellín.",["positive",0.94742364]],["The location is excellent - right near the Floresta metro station so there is easy access to wherever the Metro goes.",["positive",0.9827132]],["It is also an easy walk to San Javier and the Comuna 13 area, Laureles neighborhood, and the Stadium sports complex.",["positive",0.92236793]],["We became regulars at the Mercado la America for grocery shopping.",["positive",0.94003636]],["Sharing the kitchen was convenient.",["positive",0.95307255]],["We met wonderful people and learned a lot from other peoples travel experiences.",["positive",0.979167]],["Breakfasts are included, there are plenty of common places to sit.",["positive",0.9462204]],["And then of course there are the dogs.",["positive",0.80756664]],["friendly and welcoming.",["positive",0.97116697]],["We would stay there again!",["unknown",0.62268776]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-35}
