5 Star View, 152m high and this park accommodates 6 million visitors, any guesses?Between Midlothian Avenue and Cambie Street is Queen Elizabeth Park (QEP). Vancouverite (pronounced Vangcouverite) explained this place used to be a quarry in early 1900's called "Little Mountain." If you like being on top then you will find it here at lofty heights of 152m or 500 feet. Strolling, cycling and running are all possibilities in Queen Elizabeth Park. At the top find Bloedel Conservatory and its popular "dancing waters" fountains to cool you off while providing a spectacular view of the city. If you are walking with a furry four legged friend there is an off leash section for untethered play at the lower elevation of the park. Athletic pursuits here are putting and golf (on a short course) at Pitch & Putt (reservations needed on weekends). Tennis, lawn bowling and jogging trails are well marked and encircle the park. Interesting asides happening in the park are photography groups holding classes and tours being given at sunset.In the event you are hungry after taking in eyefuls of flowering trees, opening bulbs and footslogs on handcrafted bridges then Seasons in the Park restaurant could be the solution. This restaurant has a view to Whistler and offers sui generis miso marinated sablefish; fine libations, chandeliers hanging in air for Al Fresco dining. Try it.
