bed linen was provided on my bed which I then had to put onto my bedding although some of my friends were provided with incomplete linen sets or nothing at all which was rectified following talking to reception Now the room itself was extremely small Our bunk beds were in towers of 3 and were very difficult and painful to climb We were all under 6 foot tall so the beds were an okay size but a taller person would struggle to lie comfortably nnWe had our own showertoilet room which we were very grateful for when we later saw a communal shower we were disgusted by the state of it The shower room was really cramped and you couldnt really sit on the toilet without crashing your legs into the sink Also the light in the bathroom went off everyone 30 seconds unless motion was detected so when taking a shower you had to open the shower curtain to activate the sensor to turn on the light meaning the floor got soaked nnAt night the room was extremely stuffy and hot We would sleep with the bedroom window open to allow fresh air in however despite notices requesting people did not gather outside the hostel after 1011pm we were often kept awake by people outside often drunk and loudnnAs far as Im aware none of my friends experienced theft etc although we would have liked to have access to the lockable drawers in our room but this cost £1 per day whilst other hostels offer this service for freennCheck out was at 10am but our flight was not until 9pm therefore we left our bags with the hostel This cost a somewhat extortionate £3 per item We were given a ticket which we were told must be presented to retrieve our item although this was not asked for when we collected our bags at the end of the day so I am concerned that anyone could go up to reception and say that they had a bag in storage then walk away with one of our belongings nnWe had breakfast which consisted of cereal with milk or standard white toast with butternutellahoneystrawberry jam There was also tea and coffee as well as orange juice apple juice and water nnThis was my first experience of a hostel if youre looking for somewhere cheap with a great location a 2 minute walk from Bayswater and Queensway tube stations and arent too fussed about comfort or a great nights sleep then Id recommend this hostel particularly for groups of studentsbackpackers However I think from now on I will stick
