This school is great!!! I came here in january 2012 and i'm approaching my 2nd year at this campus next semester and it has been a wonderful experience so far. Everyone at Ohlone, from the teachers to the students, has been really kind, supportive, and encouraging to me. Everyone at Ohlone has treated me like family and I'm very thankful for that. This school giving a high quality education, wonderful friends, and a place to call home (not literally lol) and I know it's too early for me because I think I have 2 - 3 more years left, but I can really see myself giving back and helping this school the best way I can after I graduate from Ohlone. They've been wonderful to me so far, so the school has both my gratitude and loyalty.  Read Less

The Newark one is smaller and more organized, especially with the construction that seems to be taking a while to complete. I understand it's a big project, but we need to walk around for our classes and it's already a big campus! Other than the old buildings that I'm sure that's why they're construction new buildings it's a good college. Also -50 stars for the Admissions office ladies/ people. They were no help to me when I tried to ask them for help on how to add a class via add code. If I knew how, I wouldn't have bothered your job of sitting in the office doing nothing!  Read Less

I have never been ashamed to say that I went to Ohlone College, where I was able to triple major, earn two Associates Degrees, work as a Student Ambassador and an intern for the Ohlone College Foundation, and be VP of both Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society and Circle K International. Oh, and sing in a combo jazz/rock band, as well as the chamber chorus.I took music, science, and math classes and loved my teachers. They were attentive, cared about their students, and were always open to questions and concerns. There is a large range of students at Ohlone - I took classes that were geared towards people who were going to transfer to 4 year colleges, and I found those students to be motivated and hard-working.The administration and board of directors are so-so. Since I worked behind the scenes as a student ambassador, I was close with my counselor and could get her to pull strings for me (and a couple of friends). Otherwise, there's a lot of annoying red tape involved in admissions, registering, and advising.I came to Ohlone right out of high school and made the most of my experience. I have since returned after getting my Bachelors to take Chinese school on the weekend with my husband, who is always on a quest to impress my parents!Ohlone treated me very well. Considering that I won 2 awards, a merit scholarship, and transferred to UC Berkeley - I don't think I did too badly for myself!  Read Less
