I scheduled a cleaning with Maids in Brown. Their website prices the cleaning based on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. It is a bit more than independent folks, but I figured I was paying for the convenience of online scheduling and payments. When they came for the cleaning, I didn't ask them to do anything in addition to their regular cleaning; however, they told me that the cleaning was taking them too long and wanted me to pay extra for the time. I held firm to the pricing that they had committed to through their website, and they ultimately completed the cleaning. Three days before they were due to return for the next cleaning, they notified me that they planned to charge me over $150 more than the quoted price for my bedrooms/bathrooms because I have a formal dining room, a basement, and a living room in addition to a family room - their website does NOT state that there are additional charges for any of these items. In fact, their website states: "We communicate honestly and openly-no upsells or hidden pricing. " This statement is untrue. I refused to pay extra and cancelled the cleaning. While the price seems clear from their website, Maids in Brown apparently tries to up-charge from the prices posted on their website. I do NOT recommend using this service.  Read Less

If you're looking for house cleaning services in the DC area, look no further. Maids in Brown is the best and you won't regret hiring them.I spent a lot of time shopping around for apartment cleaning services offering first-time deals or coupons because I didn't think the cleanings were worth full price. That all changed after my first appointment with Maids in Brown. They were BY FAR the best cleaning service I'd used, by leaps an bounds. Why, might you ask?1) The quality of their work is fantastic. They are the only cleaner who ever actually dusted my things, rather than just dusting around everything. They got stains out of my stove that I didn't even know could come off (they were there when I moved in and through all the other cleaners I tried). They clean places I don't even clean when I do it myself (the underside of the couch cushions, under the edges of the bed, behind furniture, etc.)2) Ease of scheduling. Their online system is super easy to use and rescheduling or changing your appointment is quick and straightforward. They send you reminder emails and will communicate with you the day of your cleaning via phone, text, or email (whichever you prefer) to let you know when they're on their way.3) The cleaners are all incredibly nice, gracious, and courteous. I have zero concerns about them being in my home, whether I'm there or not. The money I spend on my cleaning each month is absolutely the best money I spend. I feel my whole mood lighten after my place is clean. I can't recommend Maids in Brown enough. If you're looking for maid cleaning services, look no further, you've found what you're looking for.  Read Less
