The main thing to learn here is how vulcnaoes work. The earthquake part however is not so good as there is just not enough information. And the rumbling plates to simulate an earthquake are also not very spectacular.\n\nFor sure do not go there just for the movie as this is simply not worth it when you have already seen pictures and videos of active vulcnaoes. The film is simply a montage of some eruptions with little to know explanation.\n\nOverall worth a visit when you do not care about the extremely high admission of 3200 ISK per person. Otherwise better skip this one and just open the Wikipedia page for volcanoes ;)","review_rating":3.0,"sentiment_class":"unknown","sentiment_result":0.62086630375,"sentiment_breakdown":[["The exhibition is the best part.",["positive",0.9447533]],["It is quite modern and there are many interactive displays.",["positive",0.9200005]],["The main thing to learn here is how vulcnaoes work.",["positive",0.9168957]],["The earthquake part however is not so good as there is just not enough information.",["unknown",0.60267794]],["And the rumbling plates to simulate an earthquake are also not very spectacular.",["unknown",0.66174585]],["For sure do not go there just for the movie as this is simply not worth it when you have already seen pictures and videos of active vulcnaoes.",["negative",0.00051503]],["The film is simply a montage of some eruptions with little to know explanation.",["negative",0.08616811]],["Overall worth a visit when you do not care about the extremely high admission of 3200 ISK per person.",["positive",0.834174]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-30}

Even after a night of no sleep - we got off the plane from the West Coast of the US, went to the Blue Lagoon and THEN to the Lava Center - and my kids were so interested they purposely stayed awake. And I thought the exhibits were interesting and engaging - and I loved seeing how they used technology to show you what was going on below the Earth's surface. {"reviewer_id":"51FF542FE501B966B9D8974885A1B512","reviewer_name":"KathinkaM","review_text":"The Lava Centre is a brand new museum in Hvolsvöllur, just 35 km from the Eyafjallajøkul volcano we all remember from 2010. The centre consists of the highly interactive exhibition on all thing volcano, a cinema showing volcano footage, a good souvenir shop/North 66 outlet, and the Katla restaurant. I went twice to the exhibition, once before venturing into the Thorsmork valley where you really can see what massive forces of nature volcanoes and glaciers are, once after.
