We disputed this as we had booked through a third party and we were not told of this. They did end up not charging us but we had to fight for it. The staff are nice and welcoming and know the area. It’s in a good location but we won’t stay here again. The homelessness in San Francisco is very high and noticeable in this area.","review_rating":3.0,"sentiment_class":"unknown","sentiment_result":0.702571485,"sentiment_breakdown":[["We stayed here recently and upon checkout they were going to charge us an extra amenities charge of $199 USD.",["unknown",0.61771864]],["We disputed this as we had booked through a third party and we were not told of this.",["unknown",0.75047404]],["They did end up not charging us but we had to fight for it.",["unknown",0.6414013]],["The staff are nice and welcoming and know the area.",["positive",0.91616344]],["It’s in a good location but we won’t stay here again.",["unknown",0.36280102]],["The homelessness in San Francisco is very high and noticeable in this area.",["positive",0.92687047]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-35}

Guys at front desk were very helpful and polite.\nThe only cons was the WiFi, it wasn’t working good in our room at 5th floor.\nBut the top is Fabio at cafè \u0026 breakfast. He is very helpful, funny and welcoming. He gave us a lot of useful info of the city. \nWe enjoyed talked with him. Super recommended! {"reviewer_id":"BBDF0D7A9E0B682F77BB058C53DEA6C6","reviewer_name":"Scotty","review_text":"We selected this hotel for its location, close to Union Square and to the start of the Powell Street cable cars. It didn't start off well when we brewed a pot of coffee in a coffee maker that apparently hadn't been properly cleaned. What came out was worse than sludge. The hotel acted quickly to address the problem by issuing a refund on one of the fees and replacing the coffee maker.\n\nThis hotel was completely renovated not long ago so the rooms are in excellent condition however they are \"old fashion\" small. If you like plenty of room to move, this is not your hotel. Our room on Powell Street was on the second floor and noisy with the sound of the passing cable cars. We cannot comment on the other rooms but rooms on the upper floors may be quieter and if you choose an interior room, make sure it has a window unless you like a closed in feeling. \n\nThe breakfast cafe is in the lobby and is a good, reasonably priced basic buffet with limited selections. It is not the type of spread one would expect in a European hotel, even the mid-range Ibis hotels. We cannot comment on the dinner since we ate in mostly forgettable restaurants in the area.\n\nThe best meal we had was at The Grotto at Fisherman's Wharf. This is a restaurant we visit whenever we are in San Francisco. It is consistently good with a very good selection of entrees and excellent wait-staff. Next door is Alioto's Pier Nine. It is less refined in terms of seating with a more basic seafood menu, but it is consistently good with entrees typically less expensive than The Grotto. If you have a choice, go to The Grotto.\n\nBe sure to pack a sweater or light jacket when visiting San Francisco. It can be chilly. The day time highs on our visit in early June were in the low 60s F (15–18 C). Check the Tripadvisor listings for things to do. We have been their many times so some things are no longer of interest. Fisherman's Wharf is definitely a place to visit. Coit Tower affords a great view of the city and if you feel adventuresome, a trip to Alcatraz may be of interest. If you are driving there are other areas of interest such as The Presidio, the Golden Gate Bridge, and a short drive to Muir Woods in Marin County.","review_rating":3.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.8565411775999999,"sentiment_breakdown":[["We selected this hotel for its location, close to Union Square and to the start of the Powell Street cable cars.",["positive",0.9695999]],["It didn't start off well when we brewed a pot of coffee in a coffee maker that apparently hadn't been properly cleaned.",["unknown",0.6146791]],["What came out was worse than sludge.",["positive",0.79776657]],["The hotel acted quickly to address the problem by issuing a refund on one of the fees and replacing the coffee maker.",["unknown",0.4835244]],["This hotel was completely renovated not long ago so the rooms are in excellent condition however they are \"old fashion\" small.",["unknown",0.71113443]],["If you like plenty of room to move, this is not your hotel.",["unknown",0.76118124]],["Our room on Powell Street was on the second floor and noisy with the sound of the passing cable cars.",["positive",0.9231932]],["We cannot comment on the other rooms but rooms on the upper floors may be quieter and if you choose an interior room, make sure it has a window unless you like a closed in feeling.",["positive",0.9516937]],["The breakfast cafe is in the lobby and is a good, reasonably priced basic buffet with limited selections.",["positive",0.97975826]],["It is not the type of spread one would expect in a European hotel, even the mid-range Ibis hotels.",["positive",0.90907955]],["We cannot comment on the dinner since we ate in mostly forgettable restaurants in the area.",["positive",0.9689659]],["The best meal we had was at The Grotto at Fisherman's Wharf.",["positive",0.9918337]],["This is a restaurant we visit whenever we are in San Francisco.",["positive",0.9277295]],["It is consistently good with a very good selection of entrees and excellent wait-staff.",["positive",0.9922072]],["Next door is Alioto's Pier Nine.",["unknown",0.78536385]],["It is less refined in terms of seating with a more basic seafood menu, but it is consistently good with entrees typically less expensive than The Grotto.",["positive",0.97972494]],["If you have a choice, go to The Grotto.",["unknown",0.7325857]],["Be sure to pack a sweater or light jacket when visiting San Francisco.",["positive",0.7976534]],["It can be chilly.",["unknown",0.78046304]],["The day time highs on our visit in early June were in the low 60s F (15–18 C).",["positive",0.86711687]],["Check the Tripadvisor listings for things to do.",["unknown",0.77799207]],["We have been their many times so some things are no longer of interest.",["positive",0.95297587]],["Fisherman's Wharf is definitely a place to visit.",["positive",0.946004]],["Coit Tower affords a great view of the city and if you feel adventuresome, a trip to Alcatraz may be of interest.",["positive",0.94498575]],["If you are driving there are other areas of interest such as The Presidio, the Golden Gate Bridge, and a short drive to Muir Woods in Marin County.",["positive",0.8663173]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-25}
