not have picked a better place to introduce me to this world nnFirst of all the grounds are IMMACULATE Like not one blade of grass is out of place Everyday the staff is cleaning and tending to the entire property and this tells you how much they value the appearance of the property nnSecond of all I don’t have anything to compare to but cruises but the food is outstanding The Japanese and Surf and Turf restaurants are a must And I also love that you can change it up anytime and eat at the buffet if you don’t want to get dressed up There are plenty of options to meet your needsnnThird the drinks were spectacular Please please PLEASE do not believe the hype about some mysterious poison being in drinks or them not being safe etc That is simply NOT TRUE All of the water is either in a bottle Dasani or filtered including the ice We drank at all the bars and never had any problem nnFourth THE STAFFwhere do I even begin The staff is bar none the best nicest most fun attentive staff I’ve ever encountered BAR NONE My butlers Jimmy and Luis made sure to explain everything to us about the room and service and attended to any need we had The outdoor grill cooks by the pool Manuel and Jose took care of us everyday with delicious burgers and steaks cooked to order The pool bar staff of Ery Tobias Carlos and Alexis was awesome So fun and always making the best drinks and taking care to bring us plenty of drinks and bottles of cold water whether we were in the pool or in our cabana And the Entertainment Staff was the ABSOLUTE BEST Armando Ariela Mini Me Baby Face Yo Cari B and Excellente spent all day and night leading activities all over the resort and making sure everyone was having a great time I loved them allnnIf I have any constructive criticism it would be around some of the couponspromotions offered by the resort I booked my trip through Delta Vacations which I highly recommend as it was a very easy experience As a part of my booking I received 800 in resort coupons I had no idea how these worked because I’ve never stayed at an allinclusive before but it was also not explained to me and I thought this meant I had 800 to spend how I chose It wasn’t until after I spent 400 at the spa that I was told that they were actual coupons that I had to get from concierge and that they couldn’t be combined and used on anything I wanted They all had specific amounts to be used on specific things I was surprised to find that basically all of these coupons entailed you having to spend money to get any discounts ie 30 off champagne and wine when you spend 100 or more or 30 off at Starmarket when you spend 100 or more I would personally rather be given less coupons and have them actually be worth a certain percentage off without having to spend more money There was also apparently a promotion in which if you stayed for 7 days you get 2 free rounds of golf We were not told about this promotion and did not know about it until the next to last day of our stay when we heard it from some other guests and by then it was too late for us to take advantage of it The biggest thing I would say is to make sure to ask the front desk to fully explain the resort coupons and any applicable promotions before you head up to the room on the first day so you can make sure to take full advantage of all you paid for when booking your tripnnBut even with that criticism it still didn’t take away from the 5 stars and the great feedback All of the good things about this resort and the staff made up for the little hiccup with the coupons and the promotion I management can investigate privately its employee behavior I would hate to start comparing the grand edition to the typical Riu barcellos Bahia or any other all Inclusive standard brands nnOn the plus side Our butler Stalling was great He assisted is with everything we asked He was nothing but kind cordial and super attentive job well done pal Other employees should take example of his personality and general understanding of high end customer service nnOn a personal note please better inform your employees the benefits of Expedia vip gold members Employees seem to be clueless to what it is unless you educate them further Very upsetting with their lack of knowledge Expedia designates specifically this property as a vip gold access hotel The benefits or the term of agreement that Expedia
