No the blue light isnt that bright but the white one certainly is which is what the bugs really seem to be attracted to

When they fly toward the white light they also end up flying into the part that zaps them

I also found that the white cap over the led part can fall off but all i did was place a few drops of glue around the cover and screw it back in

Please realize that when zappers are used outside they are indiscrimanent on the insects they kill and will zap beneficial pollenators right along with the pests
