Kinect sensor is used for everything from facial recognition for sign-in, to issuing voice command to power on the xbox from stand-by mode. It's how i stream on twitch, wish that xbox had kept the kinect inside the console.

Cons

It has to be reset every use. The viewing angle is so wide on the device, though, that it can see the ceiling fan spinning & gets confused. I asked support online, the representative ask me to send the kinect sensor to the usa to be serviced.

Even yelling, it refuses to recognize she's even speaking most of the time. Want to do anything other than turn the receiver off or adjust the volume? But haven't gotten any non-game gestures to work.

Works better than older version highly recommended

Besides the mount for the sensor on tv also works awful thus we decided to return both the mount and the sensor
