Problem with low quality read cheap earbuds is they sound horrible
Start with the larger ear bud rubber ends first then work your way down to the smaller sizes if that doesnt fit

I purchased these to replace the ear buds that came with my waterfi ipod which never stayed sealed and became painful to wear
Theyre absolutely worth the money to go for over the flex inear model which is honestly good its just these are noticeably better

You may want to look at the aerb 4g waterproof mp3 non screen player as well it almost as cheap as these ear buds and makes for an excellent swimming experience when paired with these ear buds

So in short if you attach it to the back of your goggles like i do then you have to wrap the massive amount of cord unto a three inch stiff connector sticking straight up out of an mp3 playe

When you insert them in your ear pull back the top of your ear with your opposite hand that will stretch it and allow the ear canal to gently wrap more snugly around the ear bud

Once water gets in your ear you are hosed for the rest of the swim and that goes for any ear piece
