Just not tough enough to use on sweet potatoes, imo. No matter what size or type of potato i try to cut it is almost impossible to get the cutter to go through the potato. It is like the knives are not sharp at all.

I wasnt too thrilled with the cutter that came with the press the fries came out too small but 1234 is perfect

The cutter and plate that comes with the french fry cutter is 38 inch and to me that is too small

I used it a couple times and it works fine but you need to make sure the base is anchor because you will need to apply some force to cut the potatoes

However be sure to soak the potatoes before cutting them or they will be very difficult to cut
