It looks like theres a battery in the base that you charge and it lasts for a while so you dont have to have cords running up your desk but i found out this was not true when i received the product

While leds have a typical usage life of over 20 years if anything adverse happens with the leds incredibly unlikely within that timeframe and something should break the light is junk
