If this drive is used principally to install software and play movies not having the fastest burning speed is unimportant

This drive which i received in exchange for an honest evaluation and review would appear to be an ideal supplement for such computers but installing the software that enables playing of commercial movie dvds would need to be purchased separately

This drive would also be a costeffective way to restore optical drive capability to a laptop that has had its internal optical drive go kaput

I have viewed several cds and dvds to date and burned several dvd

All the necessary drivers were immediately installed and the device is still working after about 3 weeks of regular usage

This is a nice alternative if your internal disk drive is broken or runs poorly as it is a hassle to repair or replace if you dont know what your doing

With regards to my computer burning musicvideos on this external hdd outperformed my internal hdd albeit by no more than 30 seconds for a gigabyte file
