Pros & Cons
Pros
It sharpens pencils with variety of charcoal, color, pastel. It pulls in the rabbit- ear part as it sharpens and stops exactly when it should. All my pencils were nicely and consistently sharpened to a long point.
Cons
Every pencil is unevenly sharpened, leaving a strip of wood up one side of the graphite. When the end breaks off a soft pencil in this sharpener, it jams the last little bit of the opening inside and then the sharpener ceases to do anything.
Highlights
Quality
I feel that it does a better job with the long lead button not pushed but overall it is very good
Very happy with it for when i want something quieter or more portable than an electric sharpener
You can get the same quality at the japanese dollar store works better than american pencil sharpeners
A lot of other ones like this with the pencil gripping selffeeding part in front have bare metal parts that dent the pencil barrel
Price
On my first one the crank broke after several years but for the price its ok i fixed it with epoxy and can still use it
Competitiveness
This thing is so good that its way better than a batteryoperated sharpner
Love this sharpener for my polychromos colored pencils
I had a hand sharpener and ruined some of my caran dache pencils with them
