Im not sure how great it does at blocking rfid but the passport does stay fairly secure inside

I read about how to stop the rfid chip from transmitting but apparently it is illegal to do that and it invalidates your passport

However this case will set off the metal detector so i will leave it in my luggage when i go through security checkpoints because something about the construction of the case will set off metal detectors

When i was trying to fly over the thanksgiving holiday one of the tsa doofuses at the checkpoint told me i could carry it through the metal detector

Unfortunately it set off the metal detector and the other tsa agents didnt realize that it was the passport case

The only reason for having a passport wallet is the rfid blocking

Id theives use rfid reads to get your data and youll never know
