I had to call comcast and activate it and once that was done i havent had a single problem with it

After 4 months it will pay for itself and it doesnt regularly black out for no particular reason as the official comcast wifimodem does

Youll also need a wifi router to complement this as it is only a modem but im sure you already have one because the comcast wifimodem a cisco xb3 cant carry a signal through an empty room
