Pros
Part love story, part redemption, part futuristic. It's actually about trust and betrayal. There is a bit of mystery and thriller.
Hugh howey is a literary genius. Howey easily lays out the basics of the new world landscape he's writing against and he engages us quickly with the two primary characters. I love hugh howey and fulling intend to reread it.
There is a spiritual quality to the story and it brings home the fact that people and situations are not always as they might appear. His characters are always developed, even lesser characters. The story actually develops as its own example.
Cons
There was also no interesting character development nor an intriguing storyline.
The book lacks the originality that one expects from howey. This stumble underscores the high quality of howey's previous work and should provide an opportunity for the author to reload creatively.

This book was amazing as well and the prologue had me tearing up as i identified with the woman narrator and had even compared myself with a shell for the very same reasons although that isn’t what the story is about
