I have movies that are in h264 but decided i would try to save some space and compress them using hevc which this device claims to be able to transcode using synologys video station app

Otherwise i was impressed with synologys software and the performance i was able to get out of this device so i really only felt like docking one star from an otherwise slick product

Despite the reviews i had initially read i bought this to see if it could serve movies up to my tv via plex
