Dont tighten any screws until they are all gently threaded in where they belong

Start with one in one corner lets say right bottom then go upper leftupper right then bottom left and if theyre all threaded smoothly tighten them up in that same order

Install the remaining screws on the seat base the same way diagonally loosely threaded and then tighten
