As a cubase user it was a nobrainer to go with steinberg it works well with cubase as well as wavelab and i havent had any issues so far

Unfortunately the usb driver that is supplied by yamaha appears to have an issue with certain x99 computers causing audio glitches brief loss of connection

Yamaha is currently looking into this im actively helping them identify the cause ive provided a system trace for their software engineers and ill come back to update my review and give this product 5 stars once the issue is resolved

The only negative is that the headphone output is rather weak for high impedance headphones like hd650s although for low impedance headphones it works alright
