It 100 works to deliver a wifi signal to a device that has a wired ethernet rj45 connection but no builtin wifi

The dvr does not have wifii connected it to my laptop wifi turned off using the supplied cable

If you are in a hotel that offers hardwired ethernet internet access than this device is what youll want with you to plug into the ethernet cable and use that wired connection to provide wifi to all your devices in your room
