If the grounds do not reach the lip where the disk rests there will be air between the disk and the bottom of the phin

If you bump it or shake it grounds will fall out of the bottom

Pour a couple splashes of your hot water boiled then allowed to cool a few minutes is best but the exact temperature doesnt really matter that much onto the disk
