The description of ptsd through the mc was both touching and troubling

Instead he is mired in the maledominated strategies of combat and is haunted by the shortcomings of his missions the people who died needlessly

He commits cardinal sins of debasing women verbally and objectifying them but he never oversteps i dont think and remains strictly loyal to claire through his 4 years despite frequent selfexercise of his sexual urges and despite their agreement that it was ok to see others

He is the ideal lieutenant and had the makings of a great career officer had he been able to stick to the program and not permit failures and personal tragedies to interveneor he would have been destroyed by his greater sensitivity and existential questioning
