Pros

Clear image zoom turns the sel20f28 into a 20-40mm (30-60mm in 35mm terms) zoom lens. The a6500’s on-board image stabilisation overcomes the lack of built-in stabilisation to make it a shake free video lens. Lack of noise from the lens' focus & zo...  Read More

They are are adequately sharp from f/4 and smaller apertures. It's not as sharp as canon l glass (what i am used to), but it is good enough to keep me happy with my a6000 purchase.

This lens is so much better than the 16mm (sel-16f28) i have most of the reasonably priced sony e-mount the 20mm with the wide angle adapter, the 30mm macro and the 35mm prime. The 18-105 pz g lens is a superb carry-around lens if you don't mind its r...  Read More

Cons

I know i could fiddle around with the camera and get better results but my achilles heel is getting good shots of folks in indoor, poor lighting. Incompatible with sony's new and highly raved about alpha 7ii. The only redeeming part of this story is t...  Read More

Quality

Very pleased with the performance of this lens

The image quality is not fine art level but good for what it is an affordable and portable lens

The image quality isnt quite as amazing as the 35mm 1

Casual usage finds me mostly with the 20mm lens

Price

Both are amazing and well worth the 400500 they cost

Also offering it as a kit lens like canon did would be brilliant too because most of us who are even a little serious about pho...  Read More

Competitiveness

Its not as sharp as canon l glass what i am used to but it is good enough to keep me happy with my a6000 purchase

I carry this and sonys 50mm ƒ1

So i returned them in spite of their low prices

If this lens really competed with the canon one that would create an amazing winning combination for sonys mirrorless system
