Pros

Once it gets it roght though the picture quality is great! The attached photos are one of a furby on a shelf that was roughly 6 feet away.

Camera has a macro mode; it sets it automatically, removing the need to remember to put it into macro mode before shooting. I was initially put off by having to set the exposure correction through the menu system. It takes four or five menu clicks.

For connection to a computer, the camera uses a mini usb 5-pin connector. It connects using both usb 2. And usb mass storage. Ptp is a camera-specific protocal that connects to the computer in a readonly fashion.

Cons

Camera either turns on and then freezes or doesn’t even turn on without trying 3-4 times. Uses 4 aa batteries and eats them like a kid eating popcorn. Bulky too for not having an actual battery in it.

Sony seems to not want any ties to this camera and i can see why. Secondly, the focus on this thing is so awful. Very disappointed. Really * off. Which is a huge disappointment.

Lens is not removable. The camera is so huge and heavy that the tripod mount wiggles the screws loose. Don't even think about trying to use the timer because any problems with focus will be amplified into being an unrecognizable blur.

Shutter lag on this camera is long. It has a multi picture setting, but is so slow that all the action is missed.

Competitiveness

I always use rechargable batteries and have never once ran out of battery power

Great photos with everything you need for the amatuer photographer

From a hobbiest perspective though if you need a cheap camera that takes great photos then this is fine

I shot 646 photographs on one set of fully charged eneloop 1900 mah nimh batteries
