The wood for the pencil is just black colored

They did appear to be encased in black plastic but really i think its just dipped in what appeared to be black wax with a black colored wood pencil beneath

After you run the sharpener around it a couple of times the wax peels off and you see the wood under it

I had to slightly sharpen them to get the coating off them at first

Each pencil is only good for a few uses as the tip is very small

If applied to hard or dropped thats it the tip breaks and its trash
