I did not have the problems of other reviews the mask is very real and uses israeli nato 40mm filters
Ultimately a very comfortable and nice gas mask compared to the german m65 and current xm50 masks
The filter was not expired and the mask fit comfortably
No idea of filter expiration since it was written in israeli but for the price and being surplus i would assume the original filter is expired which would mean its perfectly useful as a hepa filter just not nbcand thats fine by me
