I actually love huge sweeping historical family sagas but in this case the author labored on and on within each “scene” or time period

When i read the description i thought it was going to be something more than what it was but i still enjoyed reading the book just not as much as i would have i think

I was saddened by the behaviors up to the end except for her father coming to get her but was still unhappy with him for not protecting his daughter over the abusive stepmother

I was also devastated to see her be married to the stewart man and to see the pattern continue even worse
