The chips should be 18 or so and the router speed shouldnt bog down

I would not be concerned about this bit overheating and losing its edgeconslabeling theres no mark for minimummaximum insertion depth for reference on the collet

It works pretty well for milling down and leveling the deck but if the stepover is too big you will notice the center of the bit is slightly higher than the outer edges
