Pros

Hvac p trap works well on my furnace condensate drain. Clear pipe allows you to see if the air conditioner drain line is plugged up. If your blower is in your house and the condenate line drains into a sewer line, this isn't a big deal since the cool ...  Read More

The clear tube allows for visual inspection even while the unit is running. The design makes it easy to swab it out with the brush provided. This assures me more business in other aspects of their maintenance. Does the job and ease of cleaning.

Great product and time saver. I am glad that i have one and i'm sure it will give me a lifetime of peace of mind.

The fittings fit snug after applying the primer and glue. The pvc pipes fit tight into the trap fittings and it works well. But the outlet from your blower housing vs.

Cons

The clear is not the same size as the coupling and it leaks. I have to agree with the other negative reviewer who noted that the main goal of this product is to stop leaks and it failed to do so. The see through fittings are too loose.

Quality

This product worked very well for us and were pleased with the results

I installed the first one on our basement unit and was pleased with the quality and functionality

Update 642018 one of the joints with the clear part of the trap has begun to leak

Price

The higher cost is completely worth it to be able to easily service the trap and visibly be able to see when it needs attention

I was informed there was now a code mandating a trap and they would put in a new one for 25x what this part cost me

Shipping

I got it shipped in good order with 2 day shipping from prime

Competitiveness

Very well thoughtout product and good value for all that you get

The clear trap and multiple closeable cleanout ports make it far superior to standard traps

I did a lot of investigating before i purchased this for the drain from my furnace for the hvac coil

Before i found this i assumed that it would be an easy matter of buying the needed pieces at home depot and just gluing them together

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I could not find the necessary prefab u tube and didnt like the idea of fabricating one out of elbows

Use pvc glue and it wont leak

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

My air conditioners drain line would clog frequently water would accumulate in the pan and the float switch would trip to stop the system

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I would suction the line out at the very end with a shop vac which would temporarily clear the clog enough to get the water draining again but over time the problem got more frequent

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It seems that the chronic clog was originating in the section of pipe between the coil outlet and utrap but i had no access to that part since the piping was all closed off

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Sure enough the old section was completely plugged with debris that was getting sucked in through the system
