When i plugged this speaker into my phone to check sound it was not very loud at all and my phone volume was all the way up

When plug into my scanner it worked a lot better but i had to turn up the scanner volume more than i would have liked

Also the cord is extra long so no worries about connecting it to the radio under the seat in my vehicle and then routing it to the speaker location near the dash

I wrote a bad review on this because the sound was not loud enough at all from my vehicle police scanner but i since found that i installed an incorrect adapter plug
