With more memory and the added speed provided by a 4core processor it can be used for anything from an embedded controller to an entrylevel desktop computer

The installation is very slow presumably because the raspian image is highly compressed but no internet connection is required for the install

Unless you are in the uk you will probably want to change the internationalisation options and for security you may want to change the user password

For the sake of sanity avoid overclocking the system is more reliable at its standard clock rate

The first difference you will notice from earlier raspberry pi models is that four raspberries appear on the screen when you boot the os one for each cpu core

The boot process is also faster comparable to booting linux on an older but not ancient pc
