The maxmin feature is also handy if you happen to pull it out before you get a good read you can find out what the maximum temperature it read was

We purchased this guy hoping its demise wouldnt be like our last thermometer cheap useless and not this one purchase that was dead upon its first use

Other then that it somewhat makes up for it with the minmax button witch shows your last three temperatures
