Pros

This is the 3rd one we've owned.

This is a must have in any nursery. Contains the smell and holds lots of diapers. Each cartridge holds an average of 30 dirty diapers before needing to be emptied.

The refills are expensive, but it would be more expensive to have poopy odors attracting rodents or other pests. Yes, the refills is expensive but i'm sure you could find a workaround on pinterest.

Cons

The lid detaches from the mechanism that connects it to the foot lever. The foot pedal is *, the parts inside do not line up so you can't get the lid open, they just keep missing.

When we ordered we have gotten 2 that are defective. We have 1 that works (out of 3 total ordered). This was also manufactured incorrectly. Maybe ours is defective but i would recommend going with a more expensive unit / different brand.

The genie noticeably has to be emptied more often than the dekor.

Easy to keep clean and i like this product

I put it in my room next to the diaper changing station while our baby sleep with us and we have not had any problems with the smell

I can certainly understand why so many afflicted with poopy diapers love this product

With the lid closed smells are trapped and it has not been necessary to empty it until the bag is full

So ill take the hit on cost

I was a bit nervous my first time changing out the bag

Love it not over prices although found same one for cheaper at local walmart

On a side note i did find some offbrand refills at walmart amazon sells them too but at last check walmart was cheaper
