There are possibly differences between the keycaps from say corsair and and another manufacturer but as cherry keys per se are all the same size i wouldnt expect that to be the case

Short answer the orings stop your keys from bottoming out and making noise

Super easy to do and less audible key clicks i installed them on wasd r and other keys i use but left them off of others just because did not feel any impact on the response from my keyboard

So let me put it this way i have a mechanical keyboard cherry mx blues for the non geeks out there thats very clicky keys
