Pros

It is not the'smoothest' or the lightest reel i have, it is undisputedly the must-have for me. The slammer drag, being sealed, is a big part of that.

The bail stays open when you cast and it seems to be very salt water resistant. Great for saltwater fishing.

This model is still a better bargain than upgrading to a vi. Im sure the vl will also gain an incredible reputation, but i wanted to go with the tried and true. Still works like new.

Cons

Same thing. It costs $11 with shipping. My fault for not taking it back after first trip. I know mistakes happen, but this is the 2nd penn reel made in china that i've had to return.

The reel binds up on itself, like something internally isn't allowing the reel to rotate smoothly on the bearings. The drags are jerking and will not go lower than a specific heavy setting; from there up. It always jams and doesn’t reel freely.
