Although this is nonhacking movement the second hand does not stop when the crown is pulled out you can briefly stop or reverse the second hand by slowly rotating the crown anti clockwise or there is a trick to stop the second hand check online

There are other tricks if your movement is slightly slowfast or you can have it regulated

The screw down crown helps it achieve its water resistance rating of 100 meters which should be good enough for snorkeling but probably not scuba
