    While i consider this a travel enclosure ill talk about that later there are three things i look for in a desktop hard drive enclosure and this baby fits all three of themspeed drive space is cheap so its not uncommon to have an extra terabyte lying around that i can slap into an enclosure for a project but if the enclosure is usb 2

    If an enclosure you are looking at is not this cable or a type c cable then the chipset being used to pass the data is technical not compliant with usb 3

    There is no direct contact between the hdd and the aluminium casing except thru the 2 screws that secure from the aluminium casing thru the plastic hdd tray into the hdd

    The aluminium case got warm so it is absorbing some heat even though it is not in direct contact with the hdd
