Just add water or change the water add your cleaner place your mop in the water and then wring the mop in the cintrifical force wringing chamber press on the pedal on the outside of the pail you get a damp mop that can clean dirty floors and mop up spilt messes

Great bucket and mop head the only thing is the mop stick is extremely short
